  • What Are Toxins Doing To Our Kids?

We cannot assume that just because chemicals are in common trade and usage that they have been evaluated for safety by our government or any other scientific board, nor that they have been approved. Most are not and have not. We’re strong parents who can face the truth and do something strong and positive and powerful with it to protect our kids, our neighbor’s kids, and kids in other countries who are still getting exposed to those same chemicals that have been banned for use in our country.

62,000 Toxic Chemicals & Failed Legislation

The Toxic Substance Control Act (TCSA), passed in 1976, is the US federal law that regulates industrial and consumer chemicals – the thousands of synthetic chemicals in use that are not intended to be used in medication, cosmetics, foods, or pesticides. At the time this law was passed, the Environmental Protection Agency was charged with creating an inventory of all existing chemicals, which were then to the biomarker for safety. At that time there were already about 62,000 existing chemicals. Rather than being tested, however, they were “presumed safe” and were “grandfathered in.”

Only 5 chemicals have been banned under the TSCA in over 35 years. Yes, 5! Do you find that as shocking as I do?

The EPA has otherwise been entirely unable to require testing on, regulate, or remove any of the remaining chemicals from the marketplace. Only a few states in the US – California, New York, and Massachusetts among them – have state laws relevant to children’s environmental health. California put legislation in place so that by 2012, 1200 chemicals identified by the EPA were to be regulated; NY, MA, and CA require commercial pesticide applicators and farmers to report pesticide application to the state, and CT has banned BPA use in carbonless receipts from banks and retail stores due to its risk of absorption and potential harm to offspring when childbearing women who handle these regularly at work are exposed.

Of the over 80,000 chemicals now in use in the US, it is clear that many are harmful to human physical and neurological development. Exposure at various vulnerable times during pregnancy, infancy, early childhood, and even though the teenage years when the lungs, endocrine, and nervous systems are still developing, can result in the same health problems increasing amongst our children including those I mentioned earlier. Because of their surface area-to-body weight ratio and immature detoxification abilities, most toxins impact children’s health harder than they do us grown-ups.

What You Can Do to Protect Your Children from Environmental Toxins

    1. Optimize nutrition

Great nutrition has two key benefits – eating natural foods with as little packaging and as few additives, colorings, pesticides, and herbicides as possible reduces chemical exposures for our kids (even after just 5 days of switching to mostly organic produce, kids’ blood levels of toxic agricultural chemicals go way down). Also, good nutrition boosts our natural ability to detoxify environmental toxins. I recommend that kids get at least two brightly colored fruits or vegetables at each meal (think carrots, blueberries, squash, for example). Healthy All Year has an entire section of lessons dedicated to teaching you how to use nutrition to boost your child’s immunity and support natural detoxification. You’ll also learn which supplements you can use to enhance detoxification naturally and safely, without breaking the bank!
Teach your children about real foods Food Renegade has a new lesson book a great resource to learn together.

    2. Get Educated & Reduce Exposures

Knowing which industrial, household and personal products (i.e., shampoos, lotions, sunscreens) are most toxic is key to protecting your child’s health. You also need to know which are the healthier alternatives. The Environmental Working Group, which has recently merged with Healthy Child, Healthy World, another of my favorite environmental advocacy groups. Other advocacy groups, Robyn O’Brien’s Allergy Kids, and Beth Lambert’s Epidemic Answers. Support the body’s ability to naturally detox.

    3. Don’t be Afraid to be Called “Mean Mommy” and Other Names

It’s our job to be parents and that means keeping our kids out of harm’s way when we can, even if it makes us temporarily unpopular. While we want our kids to live comfortably in the world, and not make life feel too restrictive, how comfortable is obesity or a hormone problem, really?

Yes, my kids called me “mean mommy” because I refused to let them wear the cool pajamas their friends were wearing – the ones treated with flame retardant chemicals. Now, 25 or so years later, the data is unequivocal. Flame retardants are seriously hazardous to our health, and more so to young children whose exposures far outweigh our own, and in whom exposures at critical times may have a detrimental impact on immunity, hormones (including those that impact obesity), and neurological health.

    4. Join Together and Speak Up!

It’s amazing what powerful mothers, fathers, grandparents, and citizens have accomplished in making policy changes in their children’s environments from toxic paints and toxic foods in schools to environmental dumping, fracking, and chemical waste plant leaks. Health Freedom Idaho is a coalition of moms (dads, grandparents, concerned citizens) who are speaking up. It is no small task, but clearly, the government isn’t going to clean this problem up for us, so we’ve got to be activists for our children’s health!

    Will you join us!

  • Round Up is Wrecking Ball on the Human Body

Dr. Stephanie Seneff, an MIT senior research scientist, and environmental toxins expert are known for having documented the link between glyphosate and autism. She also believes that glyphosate is responsible for many other chronic diseases whose rates have soared in recent years, since the introduction of glyphosate. Dr. Seneff labels glyphosate as “the most significant chemical used today,” and one that has the effect of a “wrecking ball” on the human body. 1

Exposure to glyphosate has been shown to have the following effects on human physiology:  2  3

    • acts as an antibiotic (glyphosate was patented as an antibiotic)
    • chelates important minerals (iron, cobalt, manganese; glyphosate patented as a mineral chelator)https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0300483X09003047
    • decimates the microflora and its ability to produce essential amino acids like tryptophan that converts to serotonin
    • disrupts the microbiome in the intestine, by disrupting the shikimate pathway, causing a decrease in the ratio of beneficial to harmful bacteria
    • inhibition of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes
    • disrupts sulfate synthesis and sulfate transport
    • impairs methylation pathways
    • interferes with synthesis of aromatic amino acids and methionine, which leads to shortages in neurotransmitters and folate
    • inhibition of pituitary release of thyroid stimulating hormone
    • toxic and endocrine disruptors in human cell lines  4

Glyphosate exposure has also been associated with the development of various cancers.  The World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer published a summary in March 2015 that classified glyphosate as a probable carcinogen in humans.  5  The possible cancers linked to glyphosate exposure include:

    • non-Hodgkin lymphoma
    • pancreatic islet-cell adenoma
    • renal tubule carcinoma
    • skin tumors

    Detoxing Glyphosate

Based on the scientific studies to-date, there are a number of natural substances that have shown positive results in detoxifying and reducing the toxic effects of glyphosate exposure.

  • Benefits and Uses of Detoxing Herb: Cilantro

When you grow cilantro, you grow two herbs in one! The leaves impart a musky, citrus-like flavor to Chinese, Mexican and Thai cooking. The seeds, called coriander, taste of sage and lemon or orange peel, and season many traditional Indian dishes. Many people are realizing the detoxing properties found in the herb.

    Health Benefits of Cilantro

Cilantro can help cleanse the body of toxic metals, it’s an incredible source of antioxidants, it’s loaded with vitamins and minerals, and it has a long history of culinary and therapeutic use. Cilantro helps cleanse the body of toxic metals by supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes. Compounds in cilantro leaf bind to toxic metals and loosen them from affected tissue. This process allows metals to be released from the body naturally. You can access these benefits by consuming the raw leaves or ingesting concentrated extracts. Unfortunately, fresh cilantro goes bad very quickly. If you want to be sure to always have access to its detoxification power, you should grow your own.

How to Grow Cilantro and Harvest Coriander Seeds

Cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) is really two herbs in one. The leaves, called cilantro or Chinese parsley, impart a musky, citrus-like (some even say “soapy”) flavor to Mexican, Chinese and Thai cooking. The tiny, round seeds, called coriander, taste of sage and lemon or orange peel, and season many traditional Indian dishes, especially curries.

Coriander roots also have culinary use. In Southeast Asia, they are dug, chopped and added to salty pickled condiments by many kitchen gardeners.

This is an annual which will need to be replanted each year or grown on a kitchen window sill This easy-to-grow herb is rich in vitamins A and C, and also contains iron and calcium. In the garden, coriander flowers attract beneficial insects. At the flowering and fruit-set stage, the plants give off a slightly acrid smell, which is probably why this herb’s botanical name is derived from the Greek word for “bedbug,” which emits a similar color. In mature seeds, this odor vanishes.

    Tips for Growing Cilantro

Cilantro is easy to grow, and it’s convenient to have fresh cilantro ready to use. Cilantro grows quickly and does not always transfer well, so plan on growing your cilantro from seed. Cilantro leaves stop growing and become bitter after the plant flowers. That is why it’s best to plant your cilantro in spring and fall, avoiding the longer, hotter summer days in-between.

Plant cilantro seeds in well-drained, well-fertilized soil. Choose a spot that gets full sun. Sow several seeds together one-quarter inch into the soil and six to eight inches apart. Water after planting and when the soil is dry to the touch.

Expect to wait three to four weeks before harvesting the cilantro leaves. Leaves can be harvested anytime during the growing process, but you should wait until the plant is at least six inches in height. If you want to harvest the leaves continually, sow new seeds every two to three weeks. Unlike other herbs, cilantro leaves lose most of their flavor when dried, so it’s better to use them fresh. If you need to preserve them, freezing is the best option. The seeds of the cilantro plant—coriander—require a different approach. The seeds can be used for planting or can be dried and used in a culinary capacity. Wait to harvest the seeds until most have turned brown on the plant. Cut off the stalk a few inches below the seeds. Tie the stalks in bunches and hang them upside down in a brown paper bag. After about five days, the dried seeds should fall from the stalks into the bottom of the bag. You can store the seeds in an airtight, glass container for up to a year. To release the flavors, dry-roast or grind before use.

    How to Use Cilantro

Some people find the unique smell and taste of fresh cilantro unpleasant, but those of this opinion are definitely in the minority, because the herb’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent years. Cilantro enthusiasts eagerly eat the leaves raw, chopped into salsas or salads, and layered onto sandwiches.

  • Nutritionist help son fight for his life against cancer using detox remedies beneficial for every child

My son was diagnosed with cancer, in California you HAVE treat your child with chemo or CPS will take your child away and forcibly administer chemo while your child lives with strangers. Most pediatric cancer patients die from treatment, not from the disease. In fact, it’s very rare that a child dies from cancer alone, they most often die from opportunist infections. These infections present themselves due to a severely weakened immune system, induced by the harsh and toxic treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, prophylactic antibiotics and steroids, etc.

It seems obvious to me that one of the most important parts of treating cancer should be detoxing the body. In addition to the toxic chemotherapy drugs that are pumped into these tiny little bodies on a regular basis, breaking down a tumor with chemo releases dead tumor waste that’s extremely toxic to the body and needs to be eliminated. I’ve yet to meet an Oncologist who advises their patients to detox the dead cancer cells out. It makes sense to me that this could be a reason many cancers come back. Our bodies have the ability to naturally detox through urine, waste and sweat but that’s not nearly enough to push the toxic medications and dead cancer cells out.

I’ve taken matters into my own hands and my son has not experienced any side effects from the 100+ doses of chemotherapy he’s received. I hope you’ll benefit from learning what we’ve done to support his body. Aside from following a ketogenic diet, and implementing a therapeutic protocol for immune support, we’ve done four detox therapies for him.

    1. Castor Oil Pack Detox

The castor oil pack is specifically for detox. In my experience, it’s very effective when dealing with non-cancerous uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts. Other conditions which seem to respond well include headaches, liver disorders, constipation, intestinal disorders, gallbladder inflammation or stones, conditions with poor elimination, nighttime urinary frequency, and inflamed joints. My son holds the castor oil pack against his liver for at least 20 minutes (the length of a cartoon) and does this five nights a week.

Some details should you and your medical professional decide to use castor oil packs:

It’s not to be used during pregnancy, heavy menstrual flow, or the presence of internal bleeding. Click here to read the procedure and the supplies needed.

You may fall asleep and wear the pack all night if needed. If using a heating pad, unplug it before falling asleep.

For maximum effectiveness, apply the pack as often as possible – at least four consecutive days per week for at least 4-6 weeks.
Daily use provides the most beneficial effects.

    2. Detox Bath with Epsom Salt and Baking Soda

The sulfates in Epsom salt help flush toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances. Your skin is a highly porous membrane – adding the right minerals to your bathwater triggers a process called reverse osmosis, which actually pulls salt out of your body, and harmful toxins along with it. The baking soda helps rid the body of chemicals from food, drugs, radiation exposure, etc.

We do these baths at least 4 days week.

Materials we use for one bath:

    2 cups Epsom salt
2 cups baking soda (aluminum free)

    Procedure we use:
Add salt and baking soda to a very warm bath and let dissolve for five minutes.

    3. Green Juice
This green juice is important to our detoxification routine. It assists in the rapid removal of metabolic wastes from the body and the rebuilding of damaged tissues. Juicing helps clear the kidneys of toxins and contribute to the proper digestion of food.

My son drinks this juice at least 4-6 days a week.

Green juice consists of the following:

    1 apple (to sweeten)
    1 orange
    2 stalks of celery
    1 cucumber
    1 carrot
    1 bunch of parsley
    1 bunch cilantro
    8 beet greens
    1 red bell pepper
    1 green cabbage
    1 lemon
    1/2 bulb of ginger

It’s very important that the produce in the juice is all organically grown. I don’t recommend powdered greens as most of them have been preserved and are not in their most nutrient-dense state.

What we do in the morning sets the tone for the whole day. And if you’ve ever overslept, you know exactly how true this statement is. Mornings can be rough; it’s easy to rely on sugar and caffeine to energize you, which only wreaks havoc on your digestive system and exacerbates fluctuating energy levels and moods. • Erin got the Gardasil Shot, then she got Cervical Cancer

When healthy Erin Crawford was in college she was asked to take the Gardasil vaccine as part of a trial. Having lost several family members to cancer, it was a no-brainer for her.

To her shock, within 24 hours she was violently sick and vomiting. She would later develop cervical cancer within 18 months, the very thing the vaccine was supposed to protect her from.

    Here this well…

  • Vaccination Detox

    Vaccination Detox

Vaccines are NOT a dead virus in sterile water. Depending on the type of vaccine, and the pharmaceutical brand, vaccines also contain mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, antibiotics, MSG, residual DNA from aborted human fetuses, monkey kidney cells, cow (bovine) serum, and yeast.

So, why are some vaccines made with toxins like metals and MSG?

Vaccines made to induce a low level immune response supposedly work better if they are revved up with an “adjuvant” – an agent to increase an immune response. When more than one vaccine is administered together it is called a conjugated vaccine.
*printable CDC list of adjuvants by vaccine

Many parents have requested information on how to ‘protect’ their child from vaccination toxins. The ONLY sure way to protect your child, would be to avoid all vaccine injections. Those children/adults who are vacinated could benefit from these gentle detox methods.

Cold Pack -First of all, if you are choosing to vaccinate – take an ice pack with you and ice the vaccine site immediately after injection to reduce inflammation at the site. Continue using the cold pack for two days.

Detoxification bath – Add 5 drops of Lavender essential oil to your child’s bath with a 2 cups of epsom salt. You can also do this as a foot bath.

Probiotics – A probiotic is essential to restore gut flora and balance the immune system. Check with your health care practitioner for a good brand and dosage for your child.

Omega 3 Oil – This is especially important to take if your child suffered an adverse reaction. Cod liver oil is thought to be the most superior of all fish oils. You can also use Udo’s Oil.

Cilantro – Dr. Yoshiaki Omura discovered cilantro can accelerate the excretion of mercury and aluminum from the body. The theory is that cilantro has a molecular bond that binds to heavy metals and pulls them from the body. Cilantro therapy is certainly gentle and inexpensive.

Vitamin C – Linus Pauling’s Nobel Prize winning work showed that Vitamin C helps counteract the damage of heavy metals, chemicals, and toxins contained in vaccines and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C comes in easy to consume chewables for kids, but you can also use the powdered form and even liposomal vitamin C as an option.

Silica – is an effective non-invasive therapy for reducing the burden of aluminum in the body, it has been show to help the body slow down the accumulation of aluminum.

Water – When toxins are pulled from the body, they need to be flushed out. Full kidney function is dependent upon there being enough water in the body. Avoid soda, dairy, and junk juices and encourage your child to drink plenty of water.

Raw Food, Juices, & Smoothies – Shoot for at least 2-3 raw juices or smoothies per day during a detox, in addition to their normal meals. Try to include foods like broccoli, collards and kale, daikon radish, garlic, onions, spices, and sunny-side up eggs from free-range chickens in their diet during this time.

Make sure to check in with your healthcare advisor or practitioner during this time – and certainly before purchasing and dosing any supplements.

Your child should be monitored closely after vaccination. Reactions can occur at anytime and even to those children who have been vaccinated previously.

If you suspect that you or your child has experienced a vaccine reaction, report that reaction to the government.
